I wonder how many friends still bother with reading this space after a prolonged period of no-updates of this page. School has been manageable, but there always seems to be so much other things to do that I haven't really gone back to elaborating my trip! I'm extremely envious (bordering on jealousy) of those friends who just got to go for exchange next semester! In order not to make myself feel so sad that my exchange is already behind me, I shall reminisce on my awesome trip!!!
Day 135
We woke up (or rather they woke up, I didn't sleep the whole night!) by 6am and got ready for the trip of our lives! (or at least mine!) I can never imagine the luxury of a 21 day trip and the number of cities we were going to cover! While there was always the ever-present uncertainties, nothing was going to stop us from taking that very first step!
A quick (in relative terms considering distances in Europe) bus ride of 3 hours saw us arrive in Brussels bus station at a time before noon. We went to check out train/bus tickets at the control station, and were we surprised to know that they actually sold day passes at 2 Euro each! From previous trips like those in Paris, 2 Euro would have been the price of a single trip ticket! So without second thoughts I bought the day passes for everyone! But alas! The reason for it being so cheap, was the fact that Brussels (or at least where the train/bus routes) is really small! They were starting to complain that I shouldn't have bought it so quickly, but it turns out that we were still going to need it eventually!
You could be forgiven if you thought this was Singapore or Hongkong. In actual fact Brussels is a very developed, modern city!

Lunch was a meal of kebab (we were going to have quite alot of it during the trip), and followed by more exploration within the city.
I really love the modular structure of buildings here in Brussels. Its just very old elegant architecture that's got this order, yet individualistic character when you walk past each building! This is pretty much captured by my Lego modular buildings! Hahaha!
And of course, Belgium is very well-known for its chocolates, and sheleves in supermarket were stocked with at least 10-20 brands of chocolates.
